3/24/24

Another week! Still sloooowly chipping away at making this website more functional in between life stuff and working. I’m trying to figure out the direction I’d like to go with it. Like, do I make this place chaotic? Or more streamline? (i.e., same basic layout for every page.)

Some updates on the site so far:

  • Drew a cute brick wallpaper for the background! I figured it might be better to have my own drawings for the background instead of some sick pixelated 90s web art. Maybe I’ll save that stuff for a different website that’s not linked to my portfolio.
  • Life things:

  • Saw Quest Master at Hollywood Theater on Friday! My favorite dungeon synth artist right now. So cool to see live! Each song had a different video projected on them, and the animations were so inspiring. Think castles, clouds, early 3D rendering figures, and awesome pixel floating text for the titles of each song.
  • Went bowling and surprisingly had tons of strikes. Won the first round, which might be a first for me?
  • Saw Love Lies Bleeding in the theater. A very fun movie! Would recommend.
  • Learned how to actually play darts
  • Tattoo things:

  • Tattooed a few repeat clients this last week, which is always the sweetest!
  • Working on flash RIGHT NOW as I type! Well actually writing this and working on the website as a procrastination. Getting back to it now! Hoping to finish a sheet for April/May by the end of next week before I’m out of the country!

    3/12-14/24

Finally getting the hang of HTML I think. Really trying to focus on how I want this website to look and what I want to add to it. It's really all a procrastination sidequest from working on flash for April and May. It's like, I think I have ideas, but I'd rather be trying to learn code and surfing the web instead of actually drawing.

Had my first appointment that was just choosing from my linebook. (A line book is a book of flash that hasn't been shaded.) This linebook has a bunch of flash that either hasn't made it onto a flashsheet, or are from my sketchbooks and just hasn't really fit the vibe yet. I'd really love to start having more of these appointments! It was exciting to be able to figure out shading on the spot, and I'm super happy with how this dog turned out. These types of appointments would be really good for folks who like my style, trust me, and have fun choosing the day of! There's tons of tiny tattoos, and right now a lot of florals to choose from. I'll definitely be adding to the linebook as time goes on.

New flash is underway! I did a questionaire on Instagram to see what people were looking to maybe get. Here are some of the answers I got:

  • Florals
  • Window portals
  • Alligators/crocodiles
